Props,Props, and more props... | Memphis Photographer

July 31, 2015

People always ask me how do I keep from taking the same images from client to client. The answer is I am what we call a Prop-a- holic, haha, in all seriousness I do buy a lot of props usually at least one new one for every session I do. I love to try new things also, so I will use a wrap and a basket that I have and have used a hundred times and re-use it in a different way, tie the wrap in a different knot or place baby in a different position in the basket. That’s what my job is all about, being creative and trying and learning new things. The majority of my props I get from antique stores or Etsy, like my antique baby scale, I got it going through an antique store in St. Louis with my sister. I get really excited when I get a new prop, or find something really great that I can use in my sessions. I have a session coming up in August I am really excited about, twins and if they’re as pretty as they’re momma I just know we will have some pretty amazing images on our hands. The twin’s session in August I found this really neat basket at Kirkland’s that I am really excited about and this really sweet little white bow with sequins on it on it Etsy that I think will be just icing on the cake. I love giving my clients only the best, every client of mine is top priority for me. They all get my cell phone number and can text me at anytime, so I definitely want them to love their images just as much as I do, that’s why I buy something new and great for every session, to make it truly unique for them!
