New Year New Life!! WooHoo!!!!! ;-)
Hi there guys,
For those of you that don’t know me I am Jessie the owner and photographer of Jessie Anne Photography.
I know I’ve been away for a little while as I had to take an extended vacation to get Married!!! Then we went on our honeymoon and then came Thanksgiving and Christmas so it was one thing after another so I decided to come back bigger and better than ever first thing January 1! Which I know today is not January 1 but that’s ok I won’t tell if you don’t lol!
I want to introduce you to my husband as he will be helping me a lot with the business, some of you may already have met him as he helped with your session. His name is David and he is my sweetheart and the love of my life. He went to school to be a photographer as well, but he has found his true calling in helping hospitals and doctors offices help everyday people, like you and me!
I also thought for the newbies to my site I would answer a few questions so everyone can get to know the photographer behind the business. So here we go!
Favorite Movie: My Favorite movie of all time, wow that’s a hard one, as my husband and I are big movie people I really like comedies and action as well. Shooter is a big favorite of mine, but I love Mark Wahlberg. I also like a good romantic movie, The Notebook is one of my favorites as well as Crazy, Stupid Love because who doesn’t love Ryan Gosling, but I think my all time favorite would have to be Dirty Dancing with the original heartthrob Patrick Swayze.
Favorite Book: I love to read, its one of my absolute favorite things to do. When you read its like you go on this journey through all these different places, some that don’t even exist! Which feeds my creativity and helps support my photography as I can take what my imagination cooks up from reading and turn it into something amazing and wonderful for my clients! I love everything from the J.D. Robb series to Harry Potter. I couldn’t even begin to give you a favorite fictional book. My favorite non-fictional would be my bible. I am a devout christian and I don’t think I would’ve made it this far in my career or my life without God.
Favorite Lens: If you would have asked me a couple years ago, my answer would have been I am not sure I switched lenses like I do socks, whatever lens fit the current image I was trying to capture. Now I absolutely use my 35mm Nikon lens for everything! Occasionally I will get out my Macro to get those sweet baby close up shots for my mommies.
Favorite Website or Blog: Hmmm, let me start by naming all the websites that are always open in my browser (including right now)!
– Facebook, of course, to keep up with my family and friends, and I use it for business as well. I also love Instagram and Pinterest as I get a lot of ideas for my props and sessions on there as well as ideas for decorating my home which is something I love to do!
– I love to surf the NAPCP site to keep up with everything new and exciting in the association.
– Last but not least, I am always on my website to blog, edit, add images or tweak things around.
– Oh! And Etsy. I cannot forget Etsy; I am on there all the time planning sessions and getting beautiful props.
Favorite Music: Music has always been a big part of my life. When I was younger my dad would take me running errands in his blue chevy truck and we would listen to country music. Everything from Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, to Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton, to this day, those are some of my favorite memories from my younger years. My photography journey started during that time, as my dad loved taking images on his 35mm film camera everything from me and our family to hot air balloons, which is the reason for my love of hot air balloons and the reason for my logo. :-)
Favorite Store: I feel like everything I order these days comes from Amazon! I love their Prime feature (another box was just delivered). If I do get to go shopping, I go to Kroger for groceries, target or hobby lobby for decorations for the house and of course I will never pass up a trip to HomeGoods and I love me a good craft store! I love my Cricut machine and I am all about crafting and using my imagination and my hands to create something totally amazing!
Favorite Local Spot: I love to eat so my favorite local spot would have to be a restaurant, either babalu or firebirds.
Photographer Idol: I have always loved Rob and Deanna which are husband and wife wedding photographers, Kara Marie which is a boudoir photographer, Shelley Ferguson which helped me learn so much about newborn photography, as well as Mrs. Catherine Erb which is a local artist photographer who helped me open my eyes to so much when it comes to new lenses and equipment. I was lucky to take classes with Mrs. Shelley Ferguson, I learned so much! Then there is Sue Bryce and the world she has created and I am just in awe.
Favorite Instagram Accounts: I use Instagram primarily to post personal and business pictures and get ideas for my home as well as my sessions. I make sure I stop at Ryan Reynolds‘ because he cracks me up and I have always loved a good funny animal account– they save my days with a good laugh! Memphis moms also is one of my favorites to keep up with what’s going on locally.
Favorite Pinners on Pinterest: I love Pinterest! That’s where I find all my best recipes, workout regimens, or home decor ideas. I don’t really have favorite pinners, I just scroll through and pin what I like!
Favorite Quotation: Philippians 4:13- I can do all things through christ who strengthens me! I love this verse, it has gotten me through so much in my life.
Most Interesting Place I’ve Traveled: after my senior year of high school my grandmother who was a travel agent, took me to a small town in northern nova scotia and it was truly amazing! It was a small fishermen’s wharf with a lighthouse as the post office, it was so great!
Favorite Family Vacation Spot: Usually our vacations are spent going to either the beach at Gulf Shores( which is where my husband proposed ) or Gatlinburg ( which is where we honeymooned ) either is my favorite place to go. They are both so beautiful and relaxing while being fun at the same time.
Guilty Pleasure: Here we go! My guilty pleasure is television. Could not live without it. I usually edit or at least work on the computer and watch TV at the same time. I am currently watching The Crown which I am currently on the first season. It has been enlightening. I also love a good laugh like the good place, as well as a good hospital drama like Amsterdam. I get very involved and animated when watching television. I live thoroughly through my shows!
If money were no object, my occupation would be: I would still be a photographer, I would just have a gigantic studio, instead of using our third bedroom. I would also have a studio manager, if I could let go and delegate work (which is very hard for me). I think if I knew it would free up time for me to watch more TV I could do it. (Wink.) Honestly, that would be a dream come true. I would have a room stuffed with many amazing props; I am picturing a walk-in closet with endless possibilities. Oh! And someone to write my blogs for me! Lol I am sorry guys but I am horrible at this type of thing, I never know what to write and then once I get started I end up rambling on and on…. Lol
What Makes Me Memorable: This would be a good question to ask my clients, because I wonder this all the time! Hopefully they would agree that I give them something valuable and timeless, as I know custom photography is a big investment. I know you cannot please everyone but I do try. I know everyone says this, but I have the most amazing clients and I am very grateful that they allow me to do what I love the most. I hope that they look back on their experience for years to come and will remember my customer service and how much I cared about creating these images for them. Every image I create holds a piece of my heart, as I put all my passion and love into it. I love working with babies so much it just brings such joy to my heart to capture these little moments for moms.
A Favorite Personal Photograph: I love looking at images from my childhood. These photos were all shot on film so I have no digitals, I recently scanned some of the images so I could store them on my computer. Its one of those things for me, as I am a print your images photographer, I fully believe in having your images where you can see them and enjoy them on a regular basis. I just love capturing moments, as those moments may be gone forever but you look at that image and its like you're transported back to it, and all the feelings that are with that image come flooding back to you in a rush. I love printed images for that reason.
A Photograph from Your Business: I love a good black and white image, I truly believe an image will speak to me and almost scream to be black and white, that not every image can be either color or black and white. I have several images of mine that I love and that are my favorite. These are just some of them.
well I hope you enjoyed getting to know me a little better and I hope to meet you one day and get to know you a little better through the eye of my lens.
